with Lynn Berkowitz
Free
Depictions of food and dining in art remain popular themes in still life, genre, and super-sized installations. From farm to table, feasts come to life by artists as varied as Arcimboldo, Cézanne, Pippin, and Judy Chicago. With ravishing details that span the symbolic to the social, discussions center on an array of ‘isms, media, and scale that dramatically connects our understanding of eating rituals from the past to the present. Enriching videos highlight works of art from museums worldwide.
Instructor: Lynn Berkowitz, MFA, BFA, with a career in art museums, has developed an array of award-winning gallery tours, experiences, and apps aimed at helping audiences of all ages and abilities engage with a diversity of artists, ‘isms, and approaches.
